Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
No. You can make a private appointment without a referral. If you would like to claim an eligible Medicare rebate, speak with your GP about whether a Mental Health Treatment Plan is appropriate for you.
Do you provide ADHD assessments?
Yes. Invision Psychology provides comprehensive ADHD assessment for children and adults.
Do you provide autism assessments?
Yes. We provide comprehensive autism assessment using clinical interviews, standardised assessment measures, relevant collateral information and other assessment methods where appropriate.
Can you assess for intellectual disability and giftedness?
Yes. Our cognitive functioning assessment provides a detailed picture of how a person thinks, learns and processes information, and can help identify presentations including intellectual disability and intellectual giftedness.
Can you assess for learning difficulties?
Yes. Our learning difficulties assessments combine cognitive testing with academic achievement evaluations across reading, writing and mathematics, to help identify difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.
Do you see children and adolescents?
Yes. Our children and family services support young people’s mental health, emotional wellbeing and development, including neurodivergent children and families navigating autism and ADHD.
Do you provide couples therapy?
Yes. We provide couples therapy, including an approach informed by Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) and Internal Family Systems.
Can I access psychology via telehealth?
Yes. Selected therapy, assessment and support services are available via telehealth.
Where are you located?
Invision Psychology has clinics in Rockhampton and Yeppoon and also provides selected services through telehealth.
How much does psychology cost?
Fees depend on the service required and whether Medicare, private health, NDIS or another funding arrangement applies.
Can I get a Medicare rebate?
Yes, if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. We are registered to process Medicare rebates, and you can claim on up to 10 individual sessions in a calendar year. After the first 6 sessions, you will need to check in with your GP to access the remaining sessions.
Can I use NDIS funding for psychology appointments?
Yes. If your NDIS plan includes funding for psychology services, such as capacity building supports, you may be able to use it for appointments with us. Please note that we are not able to process NDIS payments for NDIA managed participants.
Do you provide services for WorkCover claims?
Yes. We provide services for eligible WorkCover claims. Please contact our team before your appointment so we can confirm your claim details and any approvals required.
Can I use private health cover for psychology fees?
Possibly. You may be eligible for a rebate through your private health insurance, depending on your fund and level of cover. We recommend checking with your fund before your appointment.
