Support Across Every Stage of Life
Women navigate a wide range of pressures across their lives, from relationships, motherhood and work-life balance to body image and sexuality. At the same time, they’re managing physical and hormonal changes that unfold across the lifespan, from menstruation and fertility to pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause. These layers constantly interact: a hard season at work can feel heavier during a hormonal shift, and a life transition like becoming a mother can reshape your relationships, sense of self, and body image all at once. Yet these connections are often dismissed or misunderstood, leaving women unsure of what’s “normal” and unheard in their experience. Women’s wellbeing therapy offers a holistic space to be taken seriously at every stage, considering how your body, relationships, and life circumstances all shape one another.
Benefits of Women's Wellbeing Therapy
Understanding how your body, mind, and life circumstances interact can make a significant difference in how supported and in control you feel.
Benefits include:
Clarity and validation: Making sense of mood, anxiety, or identity changes tied to hormonal shifts and life-stage transitions.
Support through fertility and motherhood: Processing the emotional weight of fertility struggles, pregnancy, and becoming a mother.
Guidance through perimenopause and menopause: Navigating the uncertainty and emotional shifts of this transition.
Stronger relationships and boundaries: Working through relationship difficulties, communication, and the demands of caregiving or work-life balance.
Greater self-acceptance: Building a healthier relationship with your body, self-image, and sexuality.
How Women's Wellbeing Therapy Works
Your therapist takes a holistic view, exploring how physical and hormonal changes, whether related to your menstrual cycle, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, or menopause, interact with the broader realities of your life: relationships, work, body image, and sense of self. Together, you’ll make sense of what you’re experiencing and build strategies tailored to what matters most to you right now.
What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so it helps to know what to expect. In your first session, your therapist gets to know your history and works with you to set meaningful goals. Sessions are paced to your comfort, offering a non-judgemental space to build strategies for anxiety, low mood, or overwhelm. Where helpful, your psychologist may also liaise with your GP or specialists to explore biological factors or support medication. You don’t need the right words to start — just a readiness to be heard.
How to Access the Service
To begin therapy, please get in touch with our friendly administrative team via our contact page, phone, or email address and we will send you an intake form and our information sheet and consent form to start the intake process.
You do not need a referral to book an initial appointment, however you may want to discuss your needs with your general practitioner (GP) to determine if you qualify for Medicare funding, which can cover up to ten sessions with a Mental Health Care Plan. In such cases, you would need a referral. Additionally, private health insurance rebates may be available through your provider.
